Newly released data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workfoce that shows nearly 504 thousand new unemployment claims have been filed in Tennessee over and 8 week period.ew claims the previous week.

For the week ending May 9th, 29,308 new claims were filed, which is down from the 37,319 new claims the previous week.

While the numbers were down, they were up from 8 weeks ago when approximately 2702 claims were made for the week ending March 14th.
