The Giles County Commission passed the next fiscal year budget without much in the way of objections.

Most of the heavy lifting and discussion took place during the recent all day budget committee meeting at the end of May. 

The tax rate remains the same for this fiscal year. 

The county general fund employees and the highway fund employees will receive a 5% raise.

The school fund employees will almost all get a raise in one way or another, the step raise frequency was changed from 5 to 3 years. 

The Giles County Public Library and other county libraries along with the Giles County Fire and Rescue received their full funding requests.
