The Limestone County sheriff’s department is investigating a shooting death that occurred Monday night in Athens.

Travis Stanley, 41, is charged with murder in the shooting death of 33-year old Joey Sutton.

Stanley is being held without bond in the Limestone County Jail.

Sutton was found dead in the driveway of a home on Mill Valley Road just north of Capshaw Road.

The sheriff’s department said Sutton died of apparent gunshot wounds.

The sheriff’s department received a call about the shooting shortly after 6 p.m. Monday.
