Giles County School Nutrition  has  announced a new program that will deliver meals to students’ doorsteps for free.
The program will begin when the current drive-through  pick-up  and  bus  route  delivery  of  meals  to  students  ends May 22nd.
In  an  ongoing  effort  to provide food and nutrition to students, even during  this  time  while  schools  are  closed,  Giles  County  School  Nutrition has partnered with  the  U.S.  Department  of  Agriculture  and  Baylor  University  to offer the emergency Meals-to-You  program  that  will  provide  weekday  breakfasts and lunches to students who are receiving meals  at  their  school,  but temporarily cannot receive  school  meals  due  to  the  emergency  school closures.
Students  will  receive  10  breakfasts  and  10  lunches  every  two  weeks,  mailed  directly  to  the  student’s  home  while schools are closed due  to  COVID-19  or  until June 30.
For additional information, call  Melanie  Inman at 363-4558, Ext. 2126,  from  9  a.m. until 2  p.m. Monday through Friday.
Giles  County  School  Nutrition  will  continue  serving meals to all students  until  May  22nd,  every Monday and Thursday  at  the  drive-thru  locations (Elkton, Minor Hill,  Pulaski  and  Richland elementary schools) and via daily bus routes Monday through Friday.
