Giles County Office of Emergency Management  was notified Tuesday by the Tennessee Department of Health that there have been 2 cases of COVID-19 added to Giles County’s confirmed cases bringing the total to 7 with 3 of these patients recovered.
With the opening of restaurants and retail stores the chances of contracting COVID-19 increase.
The number reported for Giles County on the Tennessee Department of Health website remains at five, but Giles OEM this afternoon announced that the total number of confirmed cases for Giles County is now at seven.
Negative tests increased in the county to 359, up from 354.
Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence with 17 positive, 669 negative, 16 recovered; Lincoln has  12 positive, 431 negative, eight recovered; Marshall reported 22 positive, 497 negative, 12 recovered, one fatality; and Maury with 40 positive, 1,394 negative, 33 recovered.
As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, Tennessee has reported 10,052 positive tests, 151,876 negative tests, 188 fatalities and 4,921 recovered.
