Several Giles County restaurants began the process of slowly reopening their doors to customers as Governor Bill Lee’s Tennessee Pledge executive order took effect Monday.
The order, which Lee announced Friday, allows for restaurants to begin operations once again, although at half capacity and with certain restrictions regarding safety, social distancing and providing a sanitized environment for customers and employees.
In Giles County, some restaurants began serving in-house customers Monday, while others are holding off to allow more time to prepare, as well as implement new safety and sanitary policies for employees.
Retail stores will be allowed to reopen Wednesday.
All gyms, hair salons, tattoo shops, massage parlors and bars will remain closed until further notice.
