Gas prices in Giles County continues to drop as the nation deals with the coronavirus pandemic and Tennessee is seeing a significant decrease at the pump.
Today, the average gas price in Giles County is $1.59 per gallon, which is down a $1 from the average this time last year.
About 38 percent of Tennessee stations have gas prices below $1.50 per gallon. The price has been declining for the past 54 days.
Meanwhile, Tennessee Valley Authority reported fuel costs have reached a record low and the overall system average fuel rate for May is about 23% lower than the three-year average May fuel cost. This is in part to the coronavirus and mild weather.
