Tennessee Governor Bill Lee will make a decision today (Wednesday) if school districts will reopen across the state for the remainder of the school year.
Giles County Schools were closed in March after the Governor recommended to close through April 24th.
The Tennessee Education Association President Beth Brown said teachers should be commended for how quickly they have transitioned from the classroom to online learning.
"For many, returning to school after the extended closure would be like starting the school year over," Brown said.
Brown added the decision on if Giles County schools will remain closed is ultimately a district decision.
Governor Lee is expected to announce his school decision during a  press conference.
