The overnight and early morning storms brought heavy rain and strong wind that left trees down with flooding and some damage in Giles County.
The county experienced hard rains Sunday and the runoff has caused flooding on several roads.
According to reports, Giles County had a total of 3.6 inches of rain as of Monday morning.
Members of the Giles County Highway Department worked during the night to clear blocked roadways and report flooding.
Highway Superintendent Barry Hyatt said several trees were uprooted in the county due to heavy rain and storms, but have been cleared from most roads. .
Roads closed today (Monday) due to high waters were Robinson Hollow at Buford Station, Gunter Smith, Minnow Branch and Old Campbellsville Pike.
Despite the flooding no major injuries were reported in Giles county.
Mississippi was among the state’s hardest hit by Sunday’s storms. Seven people were confirmed to have died as a result of severe weather in the state, with at least 10 counties reporting damage.
