BREAKING NEWS:

"Tennesseans must remain at home". After traffic and cell phone data showed that Tennesseans were traveling more in the past few days, Governor Bill Lee moves to issuing a "Stay at Home" order per Executive Order 23. This is a mandate for all Tennesseans to STAY AT HOME unless conducting essential business. He stated, " in recent days we have seen data indicating that movement may be increasing and we must get these numbers trending back down. I have updated my previous executive order to clearly require that Tennesseans stay at home unless they are carrying out essential activities.”

Lee sent a letter to law enforcement authorizing them to enforce the order, stating that they could "interpret this letter as authority to take reasonable steps to implement the provisions of Exec. Order No. 17 and 21 in your jurisdictions".

He re-stated that April will likely be an "extremely tough time for our state as we face the potential for a surge in COVID-19 cases" and urges all Tennesseans to "take this seriously, remain at home and ensure we save lives".

The order will remain in effect through April 14, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
