Brent Newton, age 63 of Elkton passed away on April 24, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center. He was born May 10, 1956 in Pulaski, Tennessee to the late Mitchell and Mary Agnes Roberts Newton.

Brent was a long-time educator in the Giles County School System, spending his career at Elkton School teaching 7^th & 8^th grade Math and Algebra.  He also spent several years as a boys’ basketball coach. Brent especially delighted in the success of these young people through activities like the Middle Tennessee Math Contest.

He was a lifelong member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Brent was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Brent Newton and his father-in-law, Luther Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Gail Moore Newton of Elkton, his brothers, Steve Newton and Dot of Pulaski, Tim Newton and Velena of Pulaski, and Jonathan “Bud” Newton and Julie of Spring Hill, his mother-in-law, Orlean Moore of Elkton, his special friends, Lydia Jackson and Jon Jackson, and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Elkton Cemetery with Brandon Bass and Jon Jackson officiating.
