A Lawrence County man is back behind bars at the Giles County Jail without bond after violating his probation.

Colton Daniel Perryman, age 20, violated his probation after he was instructed to take a drug test through his probation officer and refused to submit the test.

In April 2019, Perryman pled no contest to two counts of voluntary manslaughter in the Labor Day shooting death of Samantha Carter at Richland Inn in Pulaski.

He was sentenced to six years for each count, to be served consecutively and received an additional three-year sentence that would run concurrent for the charge of tampering with evidence.

Perryman’s sentence of 12 years in prison was suspended to 10 years of probation, after receiving credit for the approximately two years of jail time he had already served.

After a revocation hearing in Circuit Court, Perryman’s probation was revoked and ordered to serve the remainder of his original sentence with credit for time already served.
