A timeline to develop and finalize the county’s budget for 2020-2021 has been set by the Commission’s Budget Committee.
The deadline for non-profits to submit applications requesting funds from the county is April 15th.
Letters will not be sent to non-profits as in years past. The request deadline will be advertised in the local newspaper and WKSR.
The Giles County Finance Director asked the budget committee to approve a calendar which includes schools and highway department to be presented May 14th.
Beth Moore Sumners, finance director, said the budget needs to be finalized by June 4th in order to meet public notice requirements to have the full commission consider it during their June 25th meeting.
