A Columbia Central High School student walked out of class earlier this week and has yet to be located, local authorities said.

Briana Mitchell, 16, was last seen leaving Columbia Central High School at noon on Tuesday. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 145 pounds, according to a police description.

Police said Mitchell did not have permission to leave the school.

The local department issued a notification on the search that evening.
