Giles County Sheriff’s Department has placed Pulaski resident Kathryn Mareen Davis into custody following a home burglary on Short School Road.

The Sheriff’s Department reported that Sergeant Ryan Hampton made the arrest while en route to the Sheriff’s Office to report for duty. Hampton observed a vehicle on Short School Road parked on condemned property. Upon further investigation, the vehicle was occupied by Davis.

The vehicle driven by Davis matched the description of a vehicle recently involved in a burglary on Short School Rd. Hampton reports the vehicle was “packed with items from the floor to the ceiling.”  After questioning Davis, it is reported that she admitted to removing the items from the home.

A substance suspected to be methamphetamine and a glass pipe used for the consumption of methamphetamine was also recovered from Davis.

Davis was placed into custody and transported to the Giles County Jail and charged with Aggravated Burglary, Burglary, Theft of Property, Possession of Methamphetamine, Tampering with Evidence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She remains in the Giles County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Chief Deputy Brandon Beard said he would like to commend Sargent Hampton and Deputy Rock for a job well done. Sergeant Hampton’s quick actions led to the solving of an open burglary, along with the possibility of several others.

Beard is asking the public if anyone notices any unusual activity to please report it to the Sheriff’s Office at (931) 363-3505.
