Sergeant David Hannah from the Tennessee Highway Patrol office visited WKSR Bonus Hour this morning (Wednesday) to interact with the audience about safety on roads and churches.

Charged with increasing public awareness of highway safety issues, the Special Programs Unit conducts a wide range of activities aimed at saving lives and reducing injuries on Tennessee roadways.

Knowledgeable about numerous traffic safety topics and techniques, safety education lieutenants in each THP district are assigned to the Special Programs Unit to meet with schools, civic organizations, businesses, and others to improve highway safety throughout the state.

Hannah said the office also offers an Active Shooters Class for churches and schools. For additional information about the class call the Tennessee State Troopers office.

Trooper Hannah answered calls concerning the a law against anyone driving slow in the left lane, truckers driving through Elkton to avoid the weigh station on I-65 and drivers not stopping at school bus stop signs.
