A rate increase for cable television will be seen in January for PES Energize Customers.

The rate increase will average 5.75 percent across all Energize video packages to offset the increased cost of purchasing cable television programming.

A video service rate increase is the first for Energize customers since the spring of 2018.

PES Energize CEO Richard Kelley explained to board members that video service has been losing money on many of its packages since an 8 percent programming cost increase in early 2019.

Kelly said they are not going up on other Energize services at this time.

Information on the rate increase should be included in customers’ December bill.
