The Boys and Girls Club of Pulaski has reopened under new management from Boys and Girls Clubs in Columbia.

New director Devon Yurko has been with the club for approximately two years and emphasize communication is key for Pulaski to know what the non-profit provides.

According to Yurko, people think of us sometimes as a daycare, and the club is so much more than a babysitting service.

Yurko said the club is here to enable all young people, especially those who need us to reach their full potential as caring, productive, and responsible citizens.

The Giles County Boys and Girls summer program, which is opened on Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Weekly fees are based on parental income, and financial aid and scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis.

Yurko said the biggest need the club faces is assistance with finalizing some upgrades and safety improvements to the facility, which sits on nearly three unused acres.

Volunteers are in demand to help at the club daily and during some upcoming fund-raising and community events, which include the club’s Back 2 School Bash in August and its Great Futures Luncheon in October.
