A Richland High School graduate is serving in the US Navy aboard aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt.

Seaman Travis Mesnage is a yeomen aboard the carrier operating out of San Diego, California,

Mesnage is responsible for clerical work and working directly for the navigator on the ship.

He credits success in the Navy to many of the lessons learned while growing up in Lynnville.

Serving in the Navy is a continuing tradition of military service for Mesnage, who has military ties with family members who have previously served. 

Mesnage said he is honored to carry on the family tradition.
