The Giles County Commission is scheduled to meet Monday at the Giles County Courthouse, beginning at 9 a.m.

Commissioners will be asked to consider a resolution allowing the county to apply for  state unclaimed refunds held by the treasurer that should go to the county.

County Executive Melissa Greene is asking for up to $40,000 more to supplement the $50,000 to pay for a study of what the county needs to make sure all buildings meet the Americans for Disabilities Act.

Greene also is asking for up to $188,000 in matching funds for a grant to upgrade Tarpley Shop road into an industrial access road built by the state.

The Highway Committee recommends approval for additional money to grind up rock for use on the county roads.

Roads Superintendent of Roads Barry Hyatt said stone that was given to his department from the Highway 31 widening has been used.

Commissioners will also be asked to approve a resolution that formally authorizes Greene to sign a document with the Tennessee Department of Transportation that makes sure proper road connections have been made in widening of US Highway 31 South.

Also coming before the commission is money for an ambulance and remount are in an amendment to 2018-2019 county general budget.
