State Representative Clay Doggett has been unanimously elected by his peers to serve as Secretary for the House Republican Caucus during the upcoming 111thTennessee General Assembly.

This is a leadership position rarely held by freshman caucus members. In his new role as Secretary, Representative Doggett will preside in the absence of the Caucus Chairman and Vice-Chairman. He will also be responsible for tracking discussion items from caucus meetings, and distributing communications related to these items.

“I am humbled and honored that my colleagues have afforded me the opportunity to serve as Secretary during the upcoming 111th General Assembly,” said Representative Doggett. “I look forward to working with our newly elected leaders and our entire membership in order to ensure Tennessee remains a model for success that our entire nation can follow.”

The 111th Tennessee General Assembly officially convenes at noon on January 8, 2019.
