Farmers in Lawrence County, may be eligible for financial assistance due to the early November tornadoes.

The Emergency Conservation Program is a cost-share program that offers assistance to farm operators to remove debris from farmland, and restore permanent fences damaged or destroyed during the storms.

Storms and tornadoes that rolled through the region Nov. 5 and Nov. 6 did damage to several areas in the southern part of the county.

The cost-share assistance is limited to $200,000 per person.

Signups are underway and are open through Dec. 28.
