The Lawrence County Sheriff's department is seeking the public's help in locating the individual or individuals responsible for the death of two horses that were found at a Summertown property over the weekend.  

Reports indicate deputies were called to Blackwood Lane on Monday and upon arrival deputies discovered two horses deceased.  One of the horses had suffered a gunshot wound and had been butchered with a hatchet or ax.  

The incident is believed to have happened sometime over the weekend.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department at 931-762-3646
