A 41-year-old man is behind bars after being arrested in connection with a 2009 murder in Columbia, making him the fourth arrest in the almost 10-year long case.

Officers placed Jimmy Abernathy of Nashville into custody on Sunday after an eight-year investigation by Columbia Police Department, the Department of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives and the District Attorney’s office. According to booking reports from the Maury County Sheriff’s Department, Abernathy remained in the Maury County Jail over the weekend in lieu of a $750,000 bond.

The case has also included the arrests of Carlton Calloway, Quintin Mostella and Christopher Johnson. All three were indicted by a Maury County grand jury.

Abernathy, Calloway, Mostella and Johnson are charged in connection with the May 3, 2009 murder of 22-year-old Natasia Mosley, whose body was found behind the American Legion in Columbia. Police said Mosley had been shot multiple times in the back of the head “execution style,” with evidence indicating a large caliber rifle had been used.
