Father's day weekend in Lawrence County saw multiple fatalities on the roadways
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that Preston Berryhill, 21, Loretto, has been charged with Vehicular Homicide as a result of a crash on Five Points Liberty Grove Road in Lawrence County.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 am on Sunday morning.
According to the THP, Berryhill was the driver of a Jeep that left the roadway and struck a bridge. The 2012 Jeep reportedly then overturned and landed on its top in a field
Kristian Henkel, 19, was killed in the accident. Noah Kersteins, 22, another passenger in the Berryhill's vehicle was uninjured.
Berryhill was booked into the Lawrence County Jail on a charge of Vehicular Homicide.
The report notes that both Berryhill and Kersteins were wearing seatbelts, while Henkel was not.
The trooper states that a seatbelt would have made a difference in this crash.
Drug and Alcohol tests were requested.
