The Giles County E-911 Board approved amendments to balance the 2019-20 fiscal year’s budget at its meeting last week.
The board unanimously approved the amendments, while also approving the renewal of the county’s inter-local agreement with no change in verbiage from last year.
Giles County Sheriff Kyle Helton spoke with members on the progress of the installation of the three additional repeaters that will extend emergency communication throughout the county.
Helton said that the installation of the towers, which will hold the new repeaters, was to begin last week.
In another discussion, Giles EMS Director Roy Griggs introduced the potential creation of a new E-911 building. However, after a brief discussion, the board chose to take no action on the building at this time.
