Giles County and other surrounding communities are surpassing the state average in completing the 2020 Census.
Recent data from the census bureau indicates that Maury County has a local response rate of 65%, surpassing the state’s current average response rate of 61.1%.
Neighboring Marshall County leads the region with a response rate of 68.8%.
Lawrence County narrowly trails the top two with a response rate of 64.8%, followed by Giles County with a rate of 64.1%.
Government leaders in Giles County have encouraged the public to respond to the Census.
More than $675 billion in funds are distributed across the country using information gathered by the national census.
