The Giles County Chamber has a goal to roll out the Hometown Hero card by this fall with hopes of accessibility for holiday shopping.
After researching various vendors and software platforms, the Gifty card program was chosen to help usher users from paper Chamber Bucks copies to an updated, plastic card version providing more convenience.
 It is called the “Hometown Hero” card and if any vendor accepts Master Card credit cards, this new option will work, giving the ability to buy directly from the Chamber website and send via text or email for immediate use.
Other perks include split transaction capabilities and monthly balance reminders, as well as incentives for Chamber members and seasonal promotions.
The chamber is asking local businesses to respond by July 1st to confirm their interest in participating.
The Chamber Bucks program offered by the chamber for several years has been revamped to encourage more program usage, provide more immediate access to shopping funds, and funnel more shoppers to local businesses.
