The Giles County Board of Education has heard three presentations from companies that will lead the renovations and upgrades of the school system.
Board members are expected to discuss the presentations at the school board's June 18th work session.
One of the three companies will be chosen by the school board to propose a cost-efficient plan to upgrade and renovate the county's schools.
Energy  Savings  Group  (ESG),  Renaissance  Group, and  HFR Design were the three companies chosen by the board to make presentations.
Representatives of ESG, which has been working on a proposal to upgrade and renovate Giles County's schools since  2018, made a presentation at last week's board meeting.
One of the three companies will be chosen by the school board to propose an effective and cost-efficient plan.
The school board requested a quote (RFQ) after the Giles County Commission committee refused to move forward a proposal from ESG to do approximately  $10  million in upgrades and renovations.
Commissioners questioned why one company was chosen with no bidding or request for qualifications process.
The next school board's work session is at 5 p.m. on June 18th at the Central Office.
