Mayor Caldwell expressed the importance of the 2020 Census during the City of Elkton Council meeting and be aware of how it can impact funds for Elkton.
Mayor Caldwell told the board Colas Mitchell was the only person to volunteer to cut grass. Alderman Blade made a motion to allow Mitchell to maintain the specified areas with the contingency that it all gets cut and maintained.
The city's Animal Ordinance has been revised to specify that all animals need to comply with the animal control regulations.
The Aldermen went with the highest bidder, Jimmy Gardner, on a  dump truck for the amount of $2550.
The yearly Giles County Hazard Mitigation Plan resolution was passed by the board.
A motion was approved to lease the softball field at Elkton City Park to Jay Butler for another year and granted permission to turn people away so he would have more control over the field.  
Caldwell  announced the dates for the 2020-2021 budget meetings that will be held Thursday, June 4th; Thursday, June 11th and Thursday, June 18th all beginning at 2 p.m.
