For years, VFW Post 4577 and its Auxiliary have placed flags on the graves of veterans in Maplewood Cemetery and Giles Memory Gardens each Memorial Day.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this will not be possible this holiday.
Flags will be available to family members for placement on veterans’ graves. To pick-up a flag from Peggy Malone at People’s Choice Realty, call 931-703-9496; or call Margia Trotter at 638-3740 to make arrangements to get one from her.
Flags may be picked up Saturday, May 23rd, at Maplewood Cemetery from  James Malone, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., or Maxie Trotter, 2-4 p.m.; or at Giles Memory Gardens from  Jerome Arnell, 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., or Dwight Tucker, from 2 until 4 p.m.
Families are also welcome to take a flag if their loved one is buried in another cemetery.
