The state of Tennessee will provide guidance today for certain businesses in Giles County and other counties to follow when phase one of reopening the state’s economy starts next week.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee said restaurants that follow safety guidelines will be allowed to open at 50 percent capacity Monday and retail outlets following safety guidelines will be allowed to open at 50 percent capacity Wednesday in 89 of the state’s counties.
Lee said the cooperation of Giles County and city leaders  has been encouraging and is part of the reason the reopening of businesses is able to move forward.
Local officials have said they are waiting on the guidance from the state to determine if any local guidelines will be needed.
