During a statement Thursday, Director of Schools Vicky Beard said all Giles County Schools will remain closed for the remainder of the school year.
Beard ended the 2019-2020 school year following Governor Bill Lee's recommendation this week.
In a statement, Beard said graduations for GCHS and Richland seniors are postponed to the tentative dates of Thursday, June 25th, for GCHS and Friday, June 26th, for Richland. Both ceremonies will be made available to the public through online streaming.
Beard asked everyone to please realize that all decisions have been addressed with our students' best interests at heart.
Educators have been and will continue to provide opportunities for students to continue learning while at home and over the course of the summer.
"This pandemic has caused many disruptions and created challenges for our community; however, we are Giles County strong and we will get through this together,"Beard added.
More school year ending information will be released as it is available.
