Tennessee Governor Bill Lee recommended today for all  school districts to remain closed thru remainder of school year.
Giles County Schools were closed in March after the Governor recommended to close through April 24th.
Schools Acting Director Vickie Beard will make the final decision on closures of  Giles County Schools.
Tennessee Education Association President Beth Brown said teachers should be commended for how quickly they have transitioned from the classroom to online learning.
"For many, returning to school after the extended closure would be like starting the school year over," Brown said.
Brown added the decision on if Giles County schools will remain closed is ultimately a district decision.
