Giles County Executive Melissa Greene and Pulaski Mayor Pat Ford will be addressing the coronavirus in the county today at 2:05 p.m. on WKSR FM 100.9, 107.7 and WKSR AM 1420.

The Tennessee Department of Health announced there have been at least 957 reported cases of the coronavirus in the state as of Thursday afternoon, up from 784 on Wednesday.

Coronavirus, or COVID-19, is a fast-spreading virus that originated in Wuhan, China, but has since become a worldwide pandemic.

According to the World Health Organization, the global death toll is at least 20,800 with more than 462,600 confirmed cases.

The Tennessee Department of Health announced the state’s first case of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus on Thursday, March 5th.

Lincoln County had the first case reported on this week and no cases of the virus have been confirmed in Giles County.

As of Thursday afternoon, the CDC said there have been at least 68,440 cases reported in the United States.
