There are now seven confirmed cases of the coronavirus in neighboring Maury County and one in Lincoln County.

“All of these individuals are at home being treated,” Maury County Andy Ogles said Wednesday afternoon.

Six other local cases are still awaiting confirmation by the Tennessee Department of Health, Ogles said.

As of Wednesday, 784 cases have been confirmed in Tennessee.

Davidson County continues to lead the state with 188 confirmed cases, followed by Shelby County with 117 cases and Williamson County with 66 cases.

“When you look at Middle Tennessee, just how many hospitals we have in the area, we can handle it,” Ogles said.

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Pulaski has a 95 bed facility with modern technology and Maury Regional Medical Center has a surge capacity for 325 impatient and emergency beds, excluding labor and delivery and the neonatal intensive care unit.

“Everyone that has the virus or has been detected in Maury County is at home being treated,” Ogles said.
