A number of strong storms in Giles County were the blame of a host of damage reports on Saturday night.

A powerful storm system crossed much of the southeast which resulted in several reports of downed trees in areas of Giles, Lawrence and Maury Counties.

Colbert and Lauderdale counties in Alabama experienced a number of download trees, damage homes and an overturned camper.

No major injuries were reported in Giles County from the weather system, however, several people were hurt by a suspected tornado that damaged a number of counties in central Mississippi during the day on Saturday.

Afternoon highs will be below normal today (Monday) with full sunshine.

Severe thunderstorms is possible for the area Thursday evening.
