Giles County Director of Schools Phillip Wright provided the school board during the last meeting with an update on his condition related to his recent fall at the old Central Office Building.

Wright said his doctor has approved him driving limited distances and has allowed him to come to work four hours each day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

According to Wright, his left arm has gained strength, but he still has difficulty walking without the assistance of a walker due to his leg collapsing.

Wright told the board he has never had to deal with anything like this in his life. I’ve not quit working from day one.

Part of his work, Wright said, has been on next year’s budget, which he added will include a proposal for a new teacher salary scale.
