The sentencing hearing for Tad Cummins has been reset to December 5th according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Tennessee.

The former Maury County teacher is accused of taking a 15-year-old student across the country and engaging in sexual activity with her, prompting a nationwide manhunt and AMBER Alert. Cummins was taken into custody by officers in Northern California. The minor was found safe in April 2017 and taken back to Tennessee.

Cummins entered a guilty plea to two federal charges, transportation of a minor across state lines for the purposes of having criminal sexual intercourse and destruction, alteration or falsification of records in federal investigations.
