Thomas Loyd Norwood of Arlington, Texas, died Saturday in a Mansfield, Texas, hospital. He was born in Minor Hill and was 85 years old.

He was the last of a family of 15 children, growing up in Minor Hill. He graduated from Minor Hill High School in 1950. He spent 28 years in the US Air Force and also retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion Fred Norwood and Lillian Pearl Warren Norwood, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the funeral services begin at 2 p.m. Friday, at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home.

 Survivors include his wife, Marian Williams Norwood, also from Pulaski; three sons: Tom Norwood II and wife Leisha of Arlington, Ronnie Norwood and Doug Norwood and wife Kathy, all of California; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
