Phase One of the Giles County Courthouse updates, repairs, and improvements will soon get underway.

Areas to be addressed in Phase One include…

Exterior improvements and structural repairs including the porches and basement arches.

Additional work includes stone, brick pointing, and repairs, weatherproofing repairs, and sealants, window replacement, and securing exterior entrances.

Interior Improvements (Pending Courthouse Decision) would include security, fire suppression, fire alarms and smoke detection, HVAC replacement, electrical upgrades, technology, accessibility, and archive storage.

Before all of this takes place, drawings, bidding, permits and construction (upon approval) will take place, and then the process will begin in earnest.
