The Pulaski Exchange Club recently honored their Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, Sheriff’s Deputy Erik Smith.

Smith’s family moved to Giles County where Smith graduated from Giles County High School and then worked at the Williamson County Jail and the Chattanooga Police Department.

Smith returned to where he was reared, Giles County, in 2021 as a deputy sheriff.

According to authorities and his superiors, Smith has set the standard of exceptional service for the Sheriff’s office displaying extraordinary leadership and leading by example.

Other Pulaski Exchange Club awards were presented to deputies, Nick Oliver and John Yokley, along with Lt. Joe Purvis.
