Martin Methodist College (MMC) announce the February 2020 Sesquicentennial events in coordination with Black History Month.

On February 7th at 6 p.m. in the Gault Fine Arts Recital Hall on MMC's campus, an "Evening of Jazz" concert, featuring music by Pulaski native John Birdsong and company and special commentary by John Fench Nelson, Walter Searcy, Senator Thelma Harper, Judge Richard Denkins, and John Birdsong. In memory of the late renowned architects James and Anne McKissack Brown, the concert is sponsored by Lena Brown Prince '65, the first African America graduate of MMC. Donations of $20 or higher are encouraged at the door, with all proceeds going to MMC.

On February 8, 9, and 13 at 7 p.m. in the Martin Hall Auditorium on MMC's campus, "Boycott" Written by former MMC Director of Drama and star of the hit TV show Nashville David Alford, "Boycott" is a docudrama that tells the compelling true story of Pulaski's response in the 1980s to the activities of white supremacists via actual accounts of the controversy. Dr. Kayla Wiggins, MMC English Professor, will serve as director.

On February 11th at 7 p.m. Lena Brown Prince will be joined by Gloria McKissack and John Fench Nelson for a panel addressing the national, local, and personal issues surrounding Civil Rights. Prince will open the panel with her inspiring story of her role in Pulaski's integration; Dr. Judy Cheatham, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at MMC, will moderate.
