Fire destroyed the top floor of a home Saturday morning located on 7590 Beech Hill Road.

The two-story brick house was totally involved when the Giles County Rescue Squad arrived on the scene shortly after the call.

The house owners, James and Kelley Hewitt moved recently to Giles County from Minnesota and their 14 children were all home when the fire started and escaped without injuries.

A member of the Giles County Rescue Squad said the fire is under investigation and family members believe lightening from a storm caused the morning blaze.

A gofund me page has been setup and will go towards hotel rooms, clothes and shoes for the family.
