Emergency personnel reported damage and power outages across Giles County as strong storms rolled through the area Saturday morning.

Several roads in the county were impassable on Saturday, but as of today (Monday) the water had receded and back in the banks.

Several trees were uprooted in the county due to heavy rain and storms and a roof was reported blown off a building in Lawrenceburg.

Wind gusts reached between 50 and 60 mph in south central portions of the county, according to radar readings from the National Weather Service.

Miraculously, there were no reports of property damage or injuries within the city following the storm.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has confirmed three people died as a result of severe weather in Pickens County.
