The Giles County Board of Education approved a motion during the regular monthly meeting Thursday for Jeremy Holley from Emergency Management to install weather stations at every school in the county.

The stations will be mounted outside with an instrument box to be monitored inside of each school.

Ultrasonic wind, temperature, humidity, rainfall and barometric pressure is monitored on each of the high-tech weather stations.

The board again tabled the director’s title and contract discussion of acting director Vickie Beard.

In other business, policies on second reading for School District Records, Basic Program/Class size Ratios, student records and bus safety and conduct were passed.

Limestone County contract for students going out of state to school and disposal of assets at the Transportation department were approved during the 5 p.m. meeting.
