It's up to Giles County Commissioners to elect a representative for District 6 to fill the vacancy left when Louise Faulkner resigned in December.

Anyone wanting to be nominated for the position should submit a letter to County Executive Melissa Greene's office no later than noon Friday.

To qualify for the position, you must live primarily in District 6 and should not be prohibited by the Constitution and laws of the state of Tennessee to serve as a County Commissioner.

The election will take place Tuesday, January 21st, when the Commission meets at 9 a.m. on the second floor of the Giles County Courthouse.

Candidates should be present at the meeting and be prepared to be immediately sworn in if he or she is elected.
