A traffic stop over the weekend led to a drug arrest in Lawrence County.

According to reports, a deputy with the sheriff's department initiated a stop, at the intersection of South Military Avenue and Cox Street, for a registration violation.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Richard Lee Summers, Jr, 38 of Iron City, had an outstanding warrant

After a positive alert on the vehicle was made by K-9, a search yielded a bag containing approximately 18 grams of suspected meth, digital scales, baggies, syringes and a glass pipe.

Summers was arrested on his outstanding warrant and faces new charges of possession of methamphetamine for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
