The Giles County Board of Commissioners met in session today (Monday) and passed several resolutions.

At the beginning of the meeting, County Executive told all commissioners that 6th District Commissioner Louise Falkners has resigned from her duties.

The commissioners approved reports for October 2019 from the Finance Director which included Giles County General Fund, Drug, Highway, School Federal, Food Services, Debt Services,  and other capital projects.

On the short agenda, commissioners approved Linda C. Franks, Destiny Golliver, Jordon L. Thornton, Mark James Bruna and Rickey Medley their notary duties.

Commissioners authorized resolutions on the approval of naming three county bridges, TennCare to reimburse ground ambulance providers, Collection and Write-Off policy for Giles County Ambulance Service, and restore the Emergency Communications Service charge to the monthly rate of $1.50

Economic Director David Hamilton reported that the Giles County Unemployment rate was 4.3 percent and higher in other counties.

During the 30 minute meeting, resolutions were also approved authorizing the amendment of 2019-2020 Budget, General Purpose School Fund 141, and School Capital Projects Fund 177.
