During this holiday season, Pulaski volunteers will be giving thanks and giving back by taking part in the local Operation Christmas Child effort.

First Baptist Church, Pulaski will serve as a relay center for a seventh-straight year where volunteers can drop off their gift-filled shoeboxes. In 2018, FBC received 1,413 shoebox gifts as part of a global initiative that led to 10.6 million donated gifts to children in countries around the world.

OCC is a project of international non-profit Samaritan’s Purse, which seeks to provide children in need around the world with Christmas gifts while also sharing the gospel.

To take part in the project, all that is needed is a shoebox, or similarly sized container, packed with toys, schools supplies, clothing, hygiene items and other similar gifts. The shoeboxes will be collected at the relay center November 18th until the 25th during national collection week.

Drop-off times are 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 1 to 3 p.m. on the weekend and 8 til 10 a.m. on Monday, November. 25th, the final date to drop off shoebox gifts.

Participants can donate $9 per shoebox gift online through “Follow Your Box” and receive a tracking label to discover its destination.
